Description

Hi,

In the eshoppen case study, energy utilization consists of five terms. This question/issue concerns the first and final term, the utilization and the TDP coefficient. I looked at it with a couple of colleagues and none of us understood why both terms are used instead of one. I get why they are 0.18 and 0.32 respectively, but don't they encapsulate the same thing?

You have a server and you use 18% of it, the usage does not scale linearly with the power draw so we use TDP coefficient. For 18% usage, the resource draws 32% of the total power. The total power is given by the TDP.

Kind regards,
Sambe
