Description
Deprecated Java SDK Version 2.20 on the "Building Resilient Streaming Data Pipelines on GCP" module, under the "Streaming Data Pipelines" QwikLabs Activity.
Issue encountered: May 23, 2021 02:42:00AM SGT
Hello GCP Team,
Good day to you!
I would just like to provide an update with regards to the QwikLab Activity under the "Building Resilient Streaming Data Pipelines on GCP" module, wherein we are ask to create a Dataflow pipeline using the SSH Terminal from the Compute Engine Instance provided by Qwiklabs. After successfully running the "run_oncloud.sh" script on the SSH Terminal and checking the Dataflow UI in the Google Cloud Platform homepage, I have encountered an error message that states, "The SDK version 2.20.0 is deprecated and unsupported..." Due to that issue, I cannot progress with the Qwiklabs activity, and have not successfully ran the Dataflow pipeline instance as can be seen on the provided link below.
[Java_SDK_2_20_0_version_deprecated.pdf](https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/training-data-analyst/files/6527081/Java_SDK_2_20_0_version_deprecated.pdf)
I have checked and explored the Google Cloud Docs on how to upgrade the Java SDK version, and one of the solutions presented is that by updating the "pom.xml" file and changing the Apache Beam Version property to its latest, supported version. Also, according to the Google Cloud Docs that the Java SDK Version 2.20.0 for Apache Beam has already been deprecated since April 15, 2021.
Thank you and warm regards,
