Description
Os Config Agent reports a continuous error if the Windows Update service is disabled.
`What you would like to accomplish:`
Have OS Config Agent exclude errors from the console when Windows Update Agent is disabled and change the behavior to accommodate circumstances.
`How this might work:`
The OS Config Agent would check for the Windows Updates Agent status on the affected VM instance in order to go silent in the event the latter would be disabled by the user.
`Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc):`
Disabling OS Config Agent entirely would prevent it from sending error output.
Enabling Windows Update Agent would prevent the OS Config agent from sending error output.
If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient:
Disabling OS Config Agent is not an option as enabling Windows Update Agent is not allowed by the internal organization policy.

Research direction
No file, test, or entry point is named. Start by locating where the OS Config Agent reports Windows Update errors and where VM service status can be checked. Done means the agent accommodates a user-disabled Windows Update service without continuous console errors, while preserving normal reporting in other circumstances.
