Description

Since we're already using git LFS for the gemma model it may make sense to use it for all the models. We could then delete model downloading and caching code and rely on LFS to take care of it for us.

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating the existing model download and caching code, then inventory every model and how Git LFS currently handles Gemma. Done requires a settled approach for all models and removal or retention decisions for the existing download and caching paths.
