Map jumping effect on sidebar open/close

When opening and closing the sidebar, the base map and all objects move with it and jump back afterward.
In my opinion, it should just stay how it is, and the sidebar slides over it. No idea how simple that would be.

Reproduce the sidebar open/close behavior in Firefox using the attached screencast as a reference, then trace the sidebar and map layout interactions. Done means the base map and its objects remain stationary while the sidebar slides over them in both directions.
