Various issues with using Winapps - ctrl and shift modifiers, the paste buffer and closing apps

The idea behind and the implementation of winapps is wonderful. As I have been using it and I have come across some 'features' that I don't fully understand. I think are probably more to do the freerdp than winapps. But I thought I would share them here in case some else had found a solution or work around. All the issues are associated to running the Windows programs as apps. If I use the full Windows desktop I don't see any problems.

I am using ArchLinux with an xfce desktop, though I use the dolphin file browser. I have also used winapps on a KDE Plasma desktop and experienced the same problems.

1. The use of ctrl and shift modifiers in an app window.
When I launch Excel or Word as an app. ctrl C and ctrl V don't work first time. I find myself having to type ctrl ctrl C, and ctrl ctrl V. The same is true with shift, I need to press shift twice before it is registered in the app window. I find that if I run the main Windows window, this is not the case. If I run Excel word from there with the full Windows desktop everything works as it should.

2. The paste buffer
Again this is just an issue when running and app. I can paste from Linux into a Windows app, but I cannot paste from a Windows app into a Linux window. This does not happen if I am running the Windows desktop, copy and paste work in all directions.

3. Small white rectangle on the linux desktop
When I run an app I get a small white rectangle on the scree, which the app usually overwrites. I believe it is call a remote app marker window. But it is annoying.

4. Unable to close Windows apps
When I run an app I am unable to terminate the app completely. There remains a process running in the background. After closing an app and while the process is still present, if I later run the windows desktop it tells me someone is logged on and asks if I want to log them off and continue. This seems to be to do with policies on the Windows virtual machine. I have attempted to change the policy on my machine so that a process which has lost its connection gets terminated after a couple of minutes, but this has not had the desired effect. The small white rectangle remains on the desktop until I kill the process with a kill command.

I would be grateful for any feedback on these issues; especially 1 and 2. I realise these may be freerdp problems, but I have searched through the freerdp help and not found any usable solutions
