Problem Opening Files With Non-Default App

Action: Opening a file (PDF) with an app outside of the officially supported app list (Foxit PhantomPDF 9.0).

Expected Behavior: File should be opened normally.

Actual Behavior: App cannot find the file, due to an issue parsing the file's location to the tsclient.

Comment: I think that something with the configuration made the file add an extra backslash to each directory that the app can't parse where the document is supposed to be. If I open the app first, then open the file from the app, it can open it just fine. But when I used the file opener from file manager (after I added the app to MIME for pdf), it seems to have trouble with sending the location of the file to the app. What should I do to fix this behavior?
