### Description

At FlowFuse, we've long supported the use of custom npm packages (see [article](https://flowfuse.com/blog/2023/10/use-private-custom-nodes-with-flowfuse/)). However, we acknowledge that configuring the necessary files to access non-standard npm registries posed a challenge, especially for those working extensively with devices.

The integration of Node Catalogues and configurable npmrc settings directly within the FlowFuse platform is designed to streamline the use of custom modules, making it more accessible and manageable for our users, particularly those focused on device-related projects.
