Controlling widget labels

Table widgets have no label, okay I'll put my tables in their own groups and use the group labels. For consistency I'll do this for all my output widgets...
So now for widgets that have labels I have the Group label and the widget label. I don't need both, so in the widget appearance tab I choose label option 'Hide' ... wtf? The widget label in the editor disappears white the label text remains on the dashboard! This is the opposite of what I expect and want and does not seem very useful to me.

I can remove the label text from the widget... this removes the text from the display - but blank space for the label text remains, and in the editor I now have an 'undefined chart' Ugly.

In comparison, when editing ui-group nodes, the 'Display Group Name' option does control if the group name appears on the dashboard or not

I think we should be able to control if a widget label appears on the dashboard. I think it should always appear in the editor.
