Creating app from template using My Contents window leads to 'Page Not Found'

When you create an application from a web template by clicking on Create (in the My Content window) --> App --> Using a Template, the page you are redirected to says 'Page Not Found'
The successful workaround to this is to create the app from within the map using the Share --> Make a Web App.
