error-record-invalid when running on linux

I am running the following java:

openjdk version "1.8.0_181"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_181-8u181-b13-1~deb9u1-b13)
OpenJDK Client VM (build 25.181-b13, mixed mode)

..and I am having a hard time trying to find a DDNS client updater for Linux!

After downloading dnsmadeeasy.jar - running it with the following:

_**java -jar dnsmadeeasy.jar**_

Returns the external IP of my system OK, but on the same line, I get "**_, error-record-invalid_**"

There is no file created in **~/.dnsmadeeasy/config.txt**

I created it manually, but this did not fix the error.

Any ideas?
