reMarkdown xovi extension unable to create new document

**Describe the bug**
Attempting to create a new document with reMarkdown xovi extension results in nothing happening

**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Open xovi from oxide
2. Open reMarkdown application
3. Type in new document name and press enter
4. cursor goes to next line instead of opening new document

**Expected behavior**
New document should open
