Description

In past years for TRENDY simulations we've had a branch where we created the surface/landuse datasets and to also run the simulations. The changes needed for TRENDY simulations are the following:

1. Simulation start date of 1700 rather than 1850
2. CRUJRA forcing data
3. New surface/landuse datasets
4. Other specialized datasets such as for ndep and others

The first three are the things that we want to make easier.

Definition of Done:
- [x] Copy CRUJRA datm and mesh files from /glade/derecho/scratch/wwieder/TRENDY2024 to /glade/campaign/cesm/cesmdata/inputdata/atm/datm7/atm_forcing.datm7.CRUJRA.0.5d.c2024/TRENDY2024
- [ ] Add a start year of 1700
- [ ] Add compsets for 1700 control
- [ ] Add testing for 1700 compsets
- [x] Update CDEPS that can do CRUJRA forcing out of the box (#1895)
- [x] Add ability to make 1700 and 1700-2023 datasets as part of ctsm5.3
- [x] CTSM5.3 work for surface/landuse datasets (#2500)
- [x] Add creation of 1700 and 1700-2023 datasets to mksurfdata_esmf makefile for resolutions needed for TRENDY (just f09)
- [ ] Fix #2670
