The waccm_mozart_sulfur chemistry mechanism includes the following reaction:

OCS + OH -> SO2 + C + H

Although this reaction appears to be balanced, the product C is not included in the mechanism. It should be replaced with CO, as follows:

OCS + OH -> SO2 + CO + H

The source modules in pp_waccm_mozart_sulfur should be replaced accordingly.

this was fixed in cam tag cam5_4_68

That's good that it is fixed for CESM2. The bug is in the CESM1.2.2 release. If there is another release of CESM1.2, this should be fixed.
