ERC regression test on CARMA PMC model passed with MCT, fails with NUOPC

In /cime/scripts/ run create_test using test ERC, grid f10_f10_mg37, compset QPWmaC6:

./create_test --test-root --output-root --test-id 20220531-02 --xml-machine cheyenne -p --wait ERC_Ln9_Vnuopc.f10_f10_mg37.QPWmaC6.cheyenne_intel.cam-carma_pmc

I also tested carma_pmc with ERC on izumi in tag cam6_3_062 with the GNU and NAG compilers, and observed the same failure.

The ERS regression tests on carma_pmc in tag cam6_3_062 with the GNU and NAG compilers passed.
