CMDR login not possible

**Describe the bug**

Upon startup, the message "Waiting for CMDR login to complete" (I'm using the German version, so it's "Warte auf vollständige CMDR Anmeldung").
The "Update" ("Aktualisieren") Button is disabled (greyed out). Clicking it anyway changes the message to "CAPI request cancelled: CMDR name unknown" ("CAPI Anfrage abgebrochen: Kdt. Name unbekannt").
All of the displayed fields (CMDR, ship, system, station) are blank.
The logs show that the journal files are parsed.

**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Start EDMC
2. Observe "Waiting for CMDR login to complete" message
3. Click "Update" button
4. Observe "CAPI request cancelled: CMDR name unknown" message

**Expected behavior**

Login succeeds.
Fields are filled with data from the journal files.

This is on Linux Mint, I installed EDMC using the system Application Manager, no further adjustments.

Installation was yesterday, and it worked fine; issue occurred only after reboot.
