Description
On pm-gpu, we currently only use GNU for scream GPU cases (ie `gnugpu` compiler). We have the nvidia compiler set up (`nvidagpu`) and I think it worked at one point, but currently does not. Would be nice to add another compiler option for testing purposes.
ie `SMS.ne30pg2_ne30pg2.F2010-SCREAMv1.pm-gpu_nvidiagpu`
will fail to build. I've been working to fix some of the issues and can start a branch.
It looks like it may require newer module versions for both nvidia/cuda, which is something I'm trying to do more generally independently of this issue.

Research direction
Start with the SMS.ne30pg2_ne30pg2.F2010-SCREAMv1.pm-gpu_nvidiagpu case and compare it with the working gnugpu configuration. Check the NVIDIA/CUDA module versions and the reported build failures; done means the basic SCREAM GPU case builds successfully with nvidiagpu on pm-gpu and is available as a testing compiler option.
