ASSERT syscall_windows.c:617: PORT_MESSAGE size much larger than expected

beyond issue #308 on xp64 vm this test hits the title assert:

I think it's that test anyway based on callstacks: the assert text prints out much sooner but perhaps just stderr vs stdout
