Description

Environment:

  • OS: iOS/iPadOS 16.3.1
  • IceCubesApp version: 1.5.3

Description

Changed password on a mastodon account is causing an infinite wait to login with IceCubesApp.app on both iOS & iPadOS.

Due to my own stupidity, I needed to change a password on one of my mastodon accounts (mastodon.social, if it makes a difference). The password was changed successfully via the web. When I bring up the app, I’m unable to log in to said instance as there appears to be no login timeout. I cannot update the password in the app and it’s been grinding away for about 20 minutes now.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the login flow on iOS/iPadOS after changing a Mastodon account password, using the environment and IceCubesApp version reported here. Trace the login behavior to determine why it waits indefinitely; done means the app handles the changed-password failure promptly and allows the password to be updated or login to fail normally.
