Research direction
Reproduce this on iOS 16.5.1 (c) with IceCubesApp v1.7.1, with autoplay disabled, for both video and animated GIF content. Trace the feed's opened media playback path; done means the play button works without autoplay and the media no longer opens to a black screen.
