Description
Hello, transitioning this from a Q&A discussion since the feature doesn't exist.
It would be helpful to have the option for a single column layout on larger screens.
The multi-column layout I feel works best when your feeds are primarily art/media, but for majority text feeds, the result is overwhelming and distracting, which makes it difficult to read individual posts.
Personally, the way that individual posts/threads currently appear in the app (after clicking on an individual post) would be the ideal width and placement for a single-column layout.

Research direction
Start by locating the existing multi-column feed layout and the individual post/thread layout, which the issue identifies as the desired width and placement. Trace how layout options are configured on larger screens; done means users can choose a single-column feed layout while the existing multi-column layout remains available.
