Description
It appears that the current architecture of MBF with large amounts of signal processing at 500 MHz is very close to the limits of the capabilities of Vivado to provide reliable timing closure on the design. At the moment any change to the system triggers a fight with Vivado.
It is likely that the only long term solution will be to change most of the signal processing to run at 250 MHz by doubling up signal paths. This will require a careful rearchitecting of quite a lot of the system, and is unlikely to happen soon.
