Connecting docker container to database

Cannot connect to a database.

In the documentation it is mentioned to edit the application.properties file in the Dependency-Track data directory to change the database. The only directory visible in the container though CLI is depenedency-track and that has a .jar file. How do I edit this file and point it to the database details ? How do I connect to a database database?
I have tried finding the image on Windows which was a mission and many other steps but I think simple steps to run another database are critical.
