Description
In GitLab by @Huite on Oct 21, 2022, 14:34
Rioxarray has more robust reproject and reproject_match functions: https://corteva.github.io/rioxarray/stable/rioxarray.html#rioxarray.raster_array.RasterArray.reproject
We should at the least get rid of the internal logic and wrap rioxarray.
Alternatively, we drop the functions entirely.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the existing reproject and reproject_match implementations and the linked rioxarray RasterArray API. Determine whether the project should wrap rioxarray or remove both functions; done when the chosen deprecation or removal path is implemented and the affected behavior is verified.
