Description
It would be nice if this could apply, if desired, to columns detected as html as well as string, ala the accents-neutralise plugin.
If one wanted to take that more or less directly, something like:
jQuery.fn.DataTable.ext.type.search.html = function (s) {
return removeDiacritics(s.replace( /<.*?>/g, '' ));
};

Research direction
Start with the diacritics-neutralise plugin and the analogous accents-neutralise plugin, then inspect the DataTables search type entry points, including ext.type.search.html. Done means the behavior can optionally normalize diacritics in HTML-detected columns while retaining the existing handling for string columns.
