Description
Would you be able to put the plugins in their own repositories with a package.json file so that they can be installed with npm using a github url? Right now only extensions seem manageable with npm.

Research direction
No files or tests are named. Start by inspecting the repository layout and how plugins are currently organized, then determine the set of plugins affected and the repository structure needed for npm GitHub URLs. Done means the plugins are in separate repositories and each has the package.json metadata required for installation.
