Research direction
Start by tracing the type adapters and the mandatory functions called from readoutlibs. Determine which functions and signatures must be enforced and how the project currently validates adapter implementations. Done means the required adapter contract is enforced and incompatible implementations are detected, with suitable validation added where the repository supports it.
