4DVAR with COAWST

Dear John and Colleagues,

I have a simple question, which may have already been answered in another thread.

Has anyone run a version of COAWST with 4DVAR, or adjusted COAWST to run with 4DVAR?

I generated the normalization files in ROMS and would like to know if I can run ROMS alone, but with 4DVAR.

I have had problems during compilation.

If the answer is no, is there a possibility that I could focus my efforts on this?

Start by reviewing the COAWST and ROMS build configuration and any existing 4DVAR entry points, then reproduce the reported compilation problem. Determine whether ROMS alone can run with 4DVAR using the generated normalization files; done means a documented successful build and run, or a precise blocker.
