UI issue: Pixel image display and general image view function not working

Two related issues. UPDATE: It sounds like anything that opens a new window has this bug.

### Issue 1

If I click on an image resource, a `View` button appears in the bottom of the left-hand menu. Clicking on that button opens a new window which displays the image. However, at the moment, the page either displays an "Error: Invalid object" message, or displays a big black square:

### Issue 2 (more urgent)

When I open Pixel.js, I should be seeing the folio image I'm working on, with the different layer elements highlighted in different colours. However, at the moment Pixel displays the same black square:

This issue is much higher priority, because Pixel is unusable until the user can see the image again.
