Description

DES does a few additional cuts: large, low surface-brightness objects that are likely ghosts, and an absolute size cut to remove likely cosmic rays. in my experience, these don't remove many objects, however, I worked with MUCH smaller area. DES also impement a number of multi-band cuts: object must be non-flagged in all bands and a "crazy colors" cut. should we put this in for future use?

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Review the existing validation workflow and the DES criteria described here, then clarify which cuts should be supported and how they should be configured. Done should include an agreed scope and validation that the selected cuts remove the intended objects without affecting valid detections.
