Resolve Machine issues noted in #17

Fixed on @SupahSprinkle's machine by altering pom.xml per the suggestions on [this Stack Overflow post](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23260057/the-forked-vm-terminated-without-saying-properly-goodbye-vm-crash-or-system-exi). I believe the issue arose due to a change in machine; the former machine had slightly more memory than the new one, and the default heap size value is determined at startup based on hardware and OS configuration.
