The node isn't recognized by the manager as installed

What could be the reason for the following issue:

after successfully installing a node (a small custom node I made) via the manager, the manager does not recognize the node as installed after restarting ComfyUI (naturally, clicking "install" again results in an error)

The node itself works fine, but it can’t be updated or removed through the manager
However, if I install the node manually via git clone, so that the .git folder is present, the manager starts recognizing it correctly
