Coding challenge AI endless runner

I think it be fun to make an endless runner where the computer learns from his mistakes. Like you don't hard code if ledge if like 5 squares away jump over it.He runs into it, dies & then try another move next time. I know how to do this if hard code it, but I'm looking for an AI version that learns.
