Description

Hey!

New to the channel but I have been watching many of your tutorials/videos and loving each and every one!

A coding challenge occured to me today which could maybe be broken down into three parts:

### Vibrating String
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_vibration
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave_equation

I'm coming from a sound background and curious about the mathematics behind the vibrating string which I understand is also used in physical modelling sound synthesis. There are alot of equations on the wikipedia page and would love to hear how you break these down and code them in p5!

### Vibrations of a circular membrane
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vibrations_of_a_circular_membrane
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirichlet_boundary_condition

Building on the vibrating string... I understand this is a three dimensional version of the above... (maybe?)...

### Cymatics
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_mode
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cymatics

Building on the previous two... could we build particles/grains that move over a surface to visualise the resonances of a 'membrane' (p5 canvas?)

bit of sound and wave theory + some liquid/particle simulation + physics...

it's a coding challenge
