Coding Challenge: visual base 4 number system

Was wondering if you could recreate the number system from the video game obduction.

I thought this might be interesting since you’ve made videos on converting numbers from one base system to another.

Furthermore, this system could potentially be expanded from a 2D version to a 3D version, where the grids are made from cubes (making the system base 8 or 8 bit) or with hypercubes (base 16).
