Simplify Purple Forest setup instructions

We intentionally made them incomplete and slightly hard to follow, but this was too big a stumbling block.

Long-term, we should introduce more, smaller legacy code projects to build up to uncertainty, but for now, we should just make the instructions easier to follow - this project is currently trying to teach too many things.
