Description
## Description
Partnership proposal from the AfrPowerOS project (github.com/kawacukennedy/afrpoweros).
AfrPowerOS is an evidence-first, open dataset tracking civilian nuclear and energy infrastructure across all 54 African countries: IAEA Milestone phases, regulators, timelines, vendors, agreements, installed capacity, generation mix, and electricity access. Every record carries a source URL and a confidence label (Verified / Inference / Unverified). MIT-licensed code, CC BY 4.0 data, currently covering 20 African countries with per-country pages at https://kawacukennedy.github.io/afrpoweros/ .
As Africa's largest volunteer-driven open data portal, openAFRICA is the natural home for this dataset. We'd like to:
1. Publish the AfrPowerOS country dataset (CSV + JSON, derived from `data/afrpoweros.json`) as a CKAN dataset on open.africa.
2. Keep it updated on a release cadence.
3. Cross-link openAFRICA from our repo/site and credit openAFRICA as a mirror.
## What we're asking
- Guidance on the preferred submission flow (register/log in → create dataset, or a harvested source).
- Any editorial/quality requirements you'd want met before acceptance (we already run a Python-stdlib validator and enforce source URL + confidence label on every record).
## Files
- Dataset source: https://github.com/kawacukennedy/afrpoweros (data/afrpoweros.json)
- Live site: https://kawacukennedy.github.io/afrpoweros/
## Additional context
Full disclosure: AfrPowerOS maintainer is also reaching out directly to Code for Africa devs (unrelated to this issue); happy to coordinate through whichever channel your team prefers.
This is an open-data partnership offer — no paid promotion, no sponsorship involved.

Research direction
Start by reviewing the linked AfrPowerOS repository and data/afrpoweros.json, then check the openAFRICA repository's CKAN deployment and dataset-publishing context. Confirm the preferred submission or harvesting flow and editorial requirements with maintainers; done means the dataset is accepted and published with its requested update and attribution arrangements.
