🐞 Status Bar does not update when workspace is first opened

The Line/Col information doesn't appear in the status bar until the first tab switch.

### To Reproduce

1. Close all workspaces
2. Go to CodeEdit welcome screen
3. Open a project
4. Try clicking around/selecting text---nothing happens
5. Switch to another tab---should now work as expected

### Expected Behavior

Tab switch should not be required
