[Feature Request] Enable use of gamepad in desktop mode

Currently when switching to desktop mode, the gamepad becomes unresponsive and plugging in a mouse/keyboard is required.
It would be great to have a thumbstick move the mouse cursor, and trigger buttons represent left and right click.
Not to mention having a way to bring up an on-screen keyboard with the gamepad.

I'm thinking the same way it works when switching to KDE in SteamOS on the Steam Deck.
