Description

My monitor can natively do 4k at 144Hz but if I set it to anything over 60Hz in Chimera the screen with start to flicker on and off until I manage to reset the refresh rate to 60Hz.

_Sometimes_ it will be stable at 72Hz, but if I let the computer go to sleep and then wake it up again the monitor will report that the resolution of the computer is not supported. The only fix is to either disconnect the monitor, or restart the PC.

This happens in both desktop and game mode.

I don't mind if gamescope runs at 60Hz, but I'd like to be able to run games at above 60, however it seems that I cannot set the refresh rate to above 60 in games if the refresh rate of gamescope is 60.

Any ideas? I'm running a AMD 6800XT.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the flicker above 60Hz and the failed wake-from-sleep behavior on the reported AMD 6800XT setup, testing both desktop and game mode with gamescope. Determine whether the failure is tied to the refresh-rate setting or sleep/wake transition; done means stable display output above 60Hz and successful wake without disconnecting the monitor or restarting.
