MangoHUD randomly starts while game is active, only way to dismiss it is by rebooting

I don't like having to open an issue for this, but I haven't found any documentation on it yet.

I don't use MangoHUD on my HTPC where I have ChimeraOS installed, so I don't want to see it while I'm playing. But randomly (as in, I don't know what causes it and it's not consistent), MangoHUD will start either when I start a game, or while the game is running. It sits in the top-left corner of the screen, and once it is triggered, it will start the next time the game starts. The only way to dismiss it is by rebooting my HTPC.

In case this is more user error than an actual issue, I have two questions.

1. Is there a controller button combo that toggles MangoHUD? (If not, there really should be - or a clear place in the UI to do it)
2. Are there any repercussions to removing MangoHUD via the desktop?
