Description

Currently, we use a webgl stub for testing on CI, but it should be possible to use something like mesa to at least enable software WebGL rendering in Chrome as part of the CI process. (or perhaps even mesa via docker so we have tighter control over the configuraiton).

It may be slow, but even if it is we can configure it for the master branch only.

Research direction

No files or tests are named. Start by reviewing the CI process and current WebGL stub, then investigate Mesa software rendering in Chrome, including a Docker-based setup. Done means identifying a concrete, controlled approach that can run on the master branch despite potentially slower execution.
