Description

I have a VKB Gladiator joystick, along with their STECS Standard Throttle to use for Elite Dangerous. Whenever I updated my system, the game started treating my joystick as a xbox controller which causes issues on detecting the joystick properly to be used. From research it appears to be when I update to systemd 258.1-1 and kernel 6.17.5-2 is where it breaks it. From further research, maybe it is just systemd.

This appears to be a known issue, see references, [1](https://www.reddit.com/r/cachyos/comments/1nlcqvv/steam_still_recognizes_controller_but_games_no/), and [2](https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/12310#issuecomment-3314625037), and [3](https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1nldfk8/psa_gaming_with_a_controller_on_latest_systemd/).

This was apparently supposed to be fixed with [systemd 258-4](https://archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/systemd/) however I can see only 258.1-1 as the latest using pacman. Is this known to the CachyOS team and any ETA for this supposed fix?

What works for me is:
Kernel: Linux 6.16.7-2-cachyos
systemd 257 (257.9-1-arch)
