Colors of Multiple Time Series

When new time series are added, the color of the previous time series is adopted by the new time series. This is a problem for continuity. It would be helpful to allow the user to select/edit the colors of the plotted series.

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the plotting logic that assigns colors when time series are added, reproduce the color carryover, and define done as preserving earlier series colors while allowing users to select or edit plotted-series colors.
