Suggestion about format date in tab search

In tab Search, option date, is possible change date format?? Doing it open or better include option change format.. for example mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or don't be a problem introduce date 1-jan like 01-01 or 1-1.... is possible??
