Description
[From X](https://x.com/cottageofquinn/status/2005752088219828345)
Even it was just a semi-regular 'highlights' summary, here's what we're thinking:
- Top Recipients by Total Amount and Count
Lists the 20 recipients getting the most money or most awards.
- High Concentration Recipients
Recipients receiving >1% of the total spending in the dataset.
- Round Amounts
Counts awards in exact multiples of $10,000 or $100,000.
- Groups of Similar Recipient Names
Uses fuzzy matching to detect and group nearly identical names (e.g., slight spelling variations).
- Geographic Concentration
Top cities (or postal code prefixes if available) by spending.
- Recent High-Value Recipients (2025+ Fiscal Year)
Top recipients of large awards (> $500,000) in the current/recent year.
- Keyword Hits in Descriptions
Top recipients where award descriptions contain keywords like 'settlement', 'refugee', 'housing', 'immigrant', 'community support', 'integration', 'newcomer'.
- New Large Recipients
Recipients who first appear in 2025+ and quickly get large totals (> $250,000).

Research direction
The issue is a broad proposal for notifications or highlights, covering recipient rankings, concentration, fuzzy name matching, geography, fiscal-year filtering, and keyword searches. No source files, tests, entry points, or acceptance criteria are named, so first identify where spending data summaries and notifications are implemented. Done is not defined beyond deciding which of these analyses the project should support.
