Description

First of all, thank you for your work!

Does the conrodgain example currently run properly on any platform and DAW/host?
I'm on Windows and tried running it in Bitwig (`Plugin host died: Could not read async reply: End of stream: Broken pipe`), and `vsthost` (host opens empty window when opening editor).

I'm planning to fork https://github.com/emoon/rust_minifb (windowing library like winit) to allow passing in a parent window handle like in winit-vst to be able to use OrbTk (https://gitlab.redox-os.org/redox-os/orbtk, relies on minifb) as VST UI library. But first I'd like to have a working plugin to be able see if my efforts bear fruit.

I would appreciate any additional information/pointers that could help me out.

Research direction

Start by running the conrodgain example on Windows with Bitwig and vsthost, reproducing the reported broken-pipe and empty-editor-window failures. Compare the behavior across the hosts and platforms mentioned in the issue. Done means the example's working environments are identified or a reproducible host/platform failure is narrowed down.
