Can you run Explore with a Pruned Bitcoin Node?

Description
I understand during initial setup of Esplora you need a full Bitcoin node to get all the necessary data. However, after everything is synced and setup, could you prune your Bitcoin node to be really small since Esplora only needs Mempool information and new block notifications?
