Description

Reproductible: always.

Since at least version 0.17 or version 0.17.1 of Bitcoin ABC, I am no longer able to use Linux symlinks as wallet files.

With all due respect, symlinking is a 30 year old technology, widely established in both business and home usage, what exactly is the reason of removing this functionality ? (Except of course just copying code from Bitcoin Core client, which has made this change) ?

So yeah, this change was copied from "upstream" (Bitcoin Core), there was already a heated discussion about this removal many months ago:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/11459

I will be honest here: find this change completely retarded and having no actual basis at all. Is this the way we want to move forward with Bitcoin - by copying every wrong idea from the competing team ?
