There's a fair amount of overlap in Tip 1 w/ some of the other tips. I wonder if a deeper exploration of some of the classes of models (e.g., supervised / unsupervised) and types of deep ML models may be better as a focus for tip 1.

Review Tip 1 and the linked list of proposed tips to identify the overlap described in the issue. The linked contributors.md file explains contributor onboarding; completion would require an agreed focus for Tip 1 and suitable citations, but the issue does not name the manuscript file to edit.
